Understanding Addiction


When we have an Addiction, our spare time is consumed with it and our Addictions start to impact our free time.  We are all addicted to something or some things.  I was Addicted to food, alcohol, social media and a few other things that are not beneficial to my health.  The trick to overcoming Addiction is understanding why you are choosing unhealthy acts repeatedly so that you can make the changes to fill your time with things that are beneficial to your Mind, Body and Spirit, and those of the people that surround you.  Success is to replace an unhealthy addiction with one or many other things that consume us, but align with health to the body mind and spirit and if it helps others, then it will start healing the mind at an accelerated rate, which influences Spiritual Growth in our Three Bodies. 

I have chosen to switch my negative Addictions to Spiritual habits.  

When I have Free Time, I am choosing to read, walk, meditate, pray, fast, create art and do yoga among many other things.  I am literally filling my day with new habits.  

Every moment of every day is Potential.  Our Potential to create anything.  Do you want to know where you will be in the future?  Look at what you are doing now.  Every moment is creating our Future.  

When we are constantly watching social media, or movies, we are giving away our personal power and Potential by making us unproductive and not achieving anything but sickness of mind, body and spirit. 

Alcohol, Social Media, Porn and more are Distractions from Who We Are and keeping us from Spiritual Growth as they are Temptations.

When we start Choosing to Learn more or Create more, we are actually doing what we are designed for.  Creating and Learning, like a Child, which is the most beneficial way of Healing because both Teach us more about ourselves than it does about art or the subject.  

Addiction is just hyper focus on something, and can be something that is beneficial or detrimental to us.  Replace your detrimental Addictions with new interests, make new friends that are making better social and health choices such as engaging in real life relationships which is becoming a lost art.
