7 Sacred Cree Warrior Tools

The Moccasins of Peace are a Sacred Symbol of Our Journey through Life, Embodying the Principles of Treading Lightly and Walking in Harmony with Mother Earth. Made from Natural Materials like Hide, they are a Reminder of the Balance We must strive to Maintain within the World around Us, Ensuring that each Step is taken with Mindfulness, Respect, and Reverence for all Living Beings and the Land beneath our Feet.

Moccasins Remind us to Leave Footprints that Impact Others in the Healthiest Way possible as we Navigate Our Way through Life. We Wear these Moccasins to Protect our Feet, as well as Mother Earth and its Ecosystems, Walking without Causing Harm or Destruction. Every Step taken in Moccasins is a Conscious Act of Peace. They are a Declaration that We will Leave only Positive Footprints behind, Ensuring that Our Actions do Not Disrupt the Natural World.

The Design and Materials used in the Moccasins also Speaks to the Deep Connection to Nature. They are Crafted from the Physical and Spiritual Essence of the Animals that Share this World with Us, Reminding Us of the Interdependence We have with All Beings. The Animals Offer their Assistance through the Sacrifice of Becoming a Protective Covering for our Feet. In turn, We are Called to Honour their Sacrifice and to Walk with a Sense of Gratitude and Respect for the Life that Sustains us.

The Purpose of the Moccasins is to Guide Us on Our Path of Exploration and Navigation. They Empower Us to Move through the World, not as Conquerors, but as Humble Travellers who are  Learning, Exploring, and Seeking a Deeper Understanding of the World with Curiosity and Openness, and a Mindset of Balance and Respect.

When Wearing these Moccasins, We are Reminded to Call upon the Animals for Guidance, Wisdom and Teachings to Help Us Walk with Purpose, Intention, and Respect.

In Essence, the Moccasins of Peace are a Sacred Reminder of Our Responsibility to Tread Lightly upon the Earth, to Walk in Harmony with Nature, and to Protect Our Body, Mind, and Spirit upon Our Journey. They Encourage Us to Move Forward with Respect for all Living Beings and to Never Forget the Connection that we Share with the Natural World.

The Sash of Honor is a piece of Warrior Gear that represents the Character Trait of Honor. A sash is worn across the body because Honor is not something we simply speak about.

Honor is something we carry. Each thread represents a part of Character that strengthens the Warrior: Truth, Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Courage, Humility, Love, and Commitment.

One thread alone may seem small, but when the threads are woven together, they create something strong. In the same way, every choice, word, action, and relationship adds a thread to who we are becoming.

Honor means doing what is Right even when no one is watching. It means keeping your word, taking responsibility for your choices, respecting your Self and others, admitting when you are wrong, and having the Courage to make things right.

The Sash reminds us that Honor is not about appearing good to others. It is about living with Character when our Character is tested. Every day we have another opportunity to weave a stronger thread into our Sash and strengthen the Warrior within.

The Feather of Connection holds Deep Symbolic Significance within the 7 Sacred Cree Teachings, Embodying the Powerful Link between the Physical and Spiritual Realms. It Serves as a Sacred Reminder of Our Intrinsic Connection to Mother Earth and Father Creator. Just as Birds Soar from the Earth into the Sky, Crossing the Boundary between the Material World and the Spiritual, the Feather Symbolizes the Perpetual Flow of Energy between these two Realms.

It Teaches Us that We are not Isolated in Our Physical Existence; instead, We are part of a Larger, Divine Cycle that Connects Us to the Earth beneath Our Feet and the Creator Above. The Feather of Connection Reminds Us that We Come from both the Soil of Mother Earth and the Breath of Father Creator, and that We are Called to Walk in Harmony with Both.

The Feather also speaks to Our Origins and Purpose. It is a Reflection of where We come from. That we are the Ancient Wisdom of the Earth and the Creator's plan for Us. It is a Reminder of the Sacred Purpose we Carry within Us: to Remain Free in Spirit, Guided by Our Sacred Connection to all Living Beings and the Cosmos. Just as a Bird is Free to Fly and Navigate between Worlds, We, too, are meant to Remain Free in Our Hearts and Minds, unburdened by Worldly Constraints, and Aligned with Our True Spiritual Path.

In Every Movement of the Feather, We are Reminded to Stay Grounded in Our Heritage while also Aspiring to Live with a Sense of Freedom, Purpose, and Spiritual Awareness, Understanding that We are both Earthbound and Spirit-Bound, Eternally Connected to the Wisdom of the World and the Creator.

The Chest Plate of Protection is a Sacred and Powerful Symbol within Indigenous Teachings, Historically Worn in times of Conflict and War. This Intricate piece of Armour is a Representation of how We must Protect Our Body, Mind, and Spirit, Especially when Faced with Adversity or Opposition.

The Chest Plate Teaches us to not take things Personally when We face Challenges or Malicious Actions from Others. Like the Bones woven within the Chest Plate, We are to Remain Hollow yet Strong and Allow the Energy of Others to Flow through Us. The Hollow nature of the Armour Symbolizes the need to Let go of the Negativity of Others.

The Chest Plate also Serves as a Reminder to not Harm those who Harm Us even in the Face of Hostility. Our Greatest Strength lies in our Ability to Control our Thoughts which Protect our Heart while still Walking in a Way that does not cause Harm to Others, no matter their Actions are towards Us. Just as the Chest Plate Shields the Heart without Aggression, We, too, must Protect Ourselves without Retaliation, Remembering the Higher Calling of Peace and Harmony.

In essence, the Chest Plate of Protection teaches Us to Protect Others from Harm as much as we are to Protect our Self from Taking Things Personally and Spreading the Darkness.

The Medicine Pouch is a Sacred and Powerful Symbol within Indigenous Traditions, Representing the Union between the Medicine within Us and the Medicine of Mother Earth. This Pouch, Crafted from Natural Materials like Hide, Bones, Shells or Cloth, is a Personal Vessel of Healing which is a Reminder that each of us carries the Ability to Heal and be Healed, and that We are Deeply Connected to the Natural World and its Restorative Powers.

In its essence, the Medicine Pouch is not just a Container for Physical Objects; it Symbolizes Our Personal Power and the Divine Medicine that We each Hold within Our Spirit. It is a Reminder that We are not only Recipients of the Earth’s Healing Gifts but also Bearers of Healing Energy wherever We go. The Pouch often Holds Sacred Plants, Stones, Feathers, and other Natural items, each of which Holds specific Spiritual Qualities. These Items are not just Symbolic but are Physical Manifestations of the Larger Forces of Mother Earth and the Creator’s Wisdom.

The Pouch is also a Reminder of the Partnership between the Individual and the Earth. The Medicine of Mother Earth-the Plants, Minerals, Water, and Animals is Powerful on its Own, but when combined with the Medicine within Us, it Creates a Dynamic and Synergistic Force. This Union forms a Powerful Team of Healing, Working in tandem to Provide Balance, Strength, and Restoration wherever We go. Both Forces-the Inner Wisdom and the Natural World are Necessary for True Healing, and the Pouch Encourages us to Honour Both in Equal Measure.

The Medicine Pouch Serves as a Reminder that We are Always Spreading Health or Infection.  Just as our Actions, Thoughts, and Words can either Nurture or Harm, the Pouch Teaches Us to be Conscious of the Effect We have on those around Us, and Our Selves.

The Act of Wearing or Carrying the Medicine Pouch is a Personal Commitment to Live Consciously, Honouring the Sacred Responsibility of holding Both our own Medicine and the Healing Gifts of the Earth. It is a Call to be Aware of Our Thoughts, our Actions, and our Words, recognizing that We are Always in Relationship with Others whether Human or non-Human and that we play an Active role in the Health of the Collective.

This Pouch, which is often Worn close to the Body, also carries a more Intimate Message: that We must First Heal Our Self, before We can offer Healing to Others. Just as the pouch is kept close to the Heart or Waist, so too must our Personal Healing be kept close to our own Center. It Reminds Us that Healing is an ongoing, Personal Process, and only through Inner Balance and Alignment can We Hope to bring Balance to the World around Us.

The Medicine Pouch, by its very Nature, is Alive with Intention. The Materials within it are imbued with Spiritual Meaning, each item acting as a Tool, a Reminder, or a Teacher. It might contain Sage for Cleansing, Cedar for Protection, Sweetgrass for Healing, or Turquoise for Balance. Whatever the contents, the Pouch Serves as an Anchor to our connection with the Earth, the Spiritual Realm, and our Higher Purpose.

Ultimately, the Medicine Pouch Teaches us to Live in Harmony with the Earth, to Remember that We are Both Healers and the Healed, and that our Personal Energy has the Power to Affect all that We Encounter. By carrying this Sacred Tool, We are constantly Reminded of the Profound Partnership between Humanity and the Earth which is a Partnership that holds the Potential to Heal and Renew, one step at a Time. The Medicine Pouch, therefore, is not only a Vessel of Medicine but a Vessel of Responsibility, inviting us to Walk Gently, Heal Deeply, and be Conscious of the Legacy we Leave Behind.

The Choker of Service is a Sacred Piece worn close to the Throat, where Breath becomes Word, and Intention becomes Action. It sits at the Center of the Voice, which is a place of Great Spiritual Responsibility. This Choker is a Reminder that We are not here just to Speak, but to Serve with Our Presence, Our Gifts, and Our Deepest Truths.

In many Indigenous Traditions, Chokers were worn for Protection around the Neck, a Vulnerable part of the Body and Spirit. Warriors wear them into Battle; Dancers wear them in Ceremony. The Choker of Service draws on that same Sacred Purpose which is not to Fight with Force, but to show up with Courage, Protect Others through Love and to Serve Humanity with Strength, Humility, and Care.

This Piece Symbolizes our Commitment to Serve all Beings because it is our Purpose. It Reminds Us that Service begins with Listening to the Land, to the People and to Spirit. It  Asks us to Make our Words Offerings of Healing, Guidance and Comfort.

Worn daily, the Choker of Service Connects Us to Our Sacred Duty: to uplift those around Us, to Act when Others cannot, to Carry Water, offer Medicine, hold Hands, and Speak Peace into hard spaces. It is not about being above others but being with them, walking alongside, Hands open, Heart forward.

The Choker rests where our Breath passes through, the same breath that gives life to Song, Prayer, Story, and Promise. It reminds us that to Serve is not just to Act, but to Act Consciously, with our whole Heart Aligned. Service is not just doing, bu being in the right way, wherever we are.

Made of Bead, Bone, Shell, Fiber, or Hide, the materials reflect the Diversity of Service: each Strand a Teaching, each Knot a Commitment. Whether simple or adorned, it holds Power through Intention, not Appearance. It Teaches us to carry our Role with Honour, without Ego, and to remember that even in Silence, our Presence can Serve.

To wear the Choker of Service is to walk in the World with Purpose and Love. It is to Speak when needed, Stand when called, and to be a Living Helper, bringing Healing, Strength, and Connection wherever we go. It is a quiet but Powerful Declaration:

“I am here for the People. I am here for the Earth. I am here to Serve.”
